Set Goals for Yourself
Every day I post a photo of my body and share with you what I am learning about myself and my body as I continue my journey.
My goal is to inspire you to do the same.
Here’s a rough guide for how I approach my daily, weekly, and monthly goals: Bikini body month.
I post bikini body-style photos to help motivate you.
Don’t be discouraged by the selfies though. Everyone’s body is different, so what I see as hard-bodied can be perfect for you.
The pictures I take during this month are in my exact bikini from when I was 22.
Slimming down. I use an image of my previous-fat self as my current-fat self.
If you’re also trying to slim down for summer, this could be a perfect visual. It will motivate you to get fit, but not so much that it gets discouraging. For the long haul.

Commit to a Full Body Work Out.
Start a new habit or make an old one a bit more meaningful. Try doing at least 30 minutes of low-impact exercise at least 5 times a week. I like to include a mini cardio session, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), and a stretching and core session in the mix.

Cheryl Strayed wrote the amazing memoir Wild, a book about her personal journey through loss and grief.
She shares her journey by writing letters to the people she cares about, including herself.
Cheryl has lost her mother to suicide, her father to cancer, and her daughter to a rare childhood disease.
The loss of her daughter and most of her mother are some of the biggest things she has faced in her life.
During this time, she knew it was her mission to complete a significant hike on the Pacific Crest Trail.
She set out with only a backpack on her back, and her horse and dog at her side.
Her book is a captivating tale of her healing process and her search for answers. Her account of healing her grief through hiking the PCT is inspirational and healing to me, as a mother.
Find an Exercise Schedule That Works for You
Once you are all geared up for beach season, your body can start preparing you for that bikini body.
The key to any weight loss regimen is to keep working until you achieve your goals. For some people, losing weight is as simple as burning more calories than you consume.
This makes your body burn fat rather than store it as body fat.
To lose weight, you have to burn off a certain number of calories per day to reduce your body fat percentage.
Your body takes in calories from your food, burns them through your heart, and then uses the excess energy as body fat.
The calorie level you consume must be low enough to achieve the goal of losing body fat.
Here are a few quick tricks for burning fat.

Cut Down on Sugar
At the end of the day, there’s a right way to eat, a wrong way to eat, and a third way to eat.
Even if you think that you’re doing everything right, there’s a reason that your body isn’t responding the way that it did in the past. Before you throw yourself down on the pavement (which we all know is just a socially acceptable form of cardio), ask yourself, have you eaten enough?
Have you stretched enough? Have you stretched enough?
Do you have enough rest? To stay focused, don’t let that self-critical voice take over.
Instead, get in the positive habit of reminding yourself that you are more beautiful, stronger, more confident, and accomplished than you were yesterday and you will be more beautiful, stronger, more confident, and accomplished than you were yesterday
